Kish Island travel guide

Why go

Kish is a free zone where most foreigners can arrive without an Iranian visa. It is clean, relaxed and built for holidays — beaches, malls and water sports.

Top sights

  • Greek Ship — a wreck stranded since 1966, best at sunset.
  • The 40 km coastal cycle path (bike rental everywhere).
  • Kariz, an ancient underground water channel turned into a cool walkway.
  • Snorkelling and diving on coral reefs; separate men's and women's beaches.

Getting there

Flights from Tehran, Shiraz, Dubai and other cities; ferries from Bandar Charak.

Tips

Kish is more expensive than the mainland. Best November–April.
