Qeshm Island travel guide

Why go

Qeshm is a free-trade zone with easy entry and a wild landscape: eroded canyons, mangroves and starry beaches. It is best from November to March.

Top sights

  • Chahkooh Canyon and the Valley of Stars (Qeshm Geopark).
  • Hara mangrove forest by boat.
  • Namakdan salt cave, one of the longest in the world.
  • Villages of Laft with windcatchers and wells, and dolphin trips from Shibderaz.

Getting there

Flights from Tehran and other cities, or a short ferry from Bandar Abbas.

Tips

Rent a car or hire a local driver — sights are spread out. Try the local fish and mahyaveh fish sauce.
